Elm Park is a small area of park land in Ruislip Manor part of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
Throughout 2011 the boundaries were badly littered with long standing fly-tipped rubbish. The situation was drawn to the attention of the council by local businessman Richard Maguire, who runs the nearby Ruislip Tyre Service, in May 2011. His letter can be seen here.
No action was taken and the same rubbish was still in situ at the beginning of 2012 as demonstrated these additional photographs.
On 9th January 2012 I therefore contacted the council via the Fix My Street web site pointing to the “Large accumulations of litter & refuse by and under hedge on western boundary and along fence on southern boundary with tube line”.
Again no action was taken, so on 16th January I wrote to the Chief Executive of LB Hillingdon with a formal Warning Notice of my intention to apply to the Magistrates Court for a Litter Abatement Order requiring them to clean the area.
Bingo! on 19th January the council cleared the area at long last!!
