The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management - Scotland believe that the core local authority service of street cleansing has been ‘forgotten’ in the face of many the pressures facing local authorities in recent years.
CIWM Scotland are concerned that government and local authorities are overly focused on the high profile issues of litter and fly-tipping to the detriment of other aspects of street cleansing such as footpath and road sweeping to remove detritus and weeding.
